I’ve been experimenting with some of the new methods for touch in Flash Player 10.1 using Flash Professional CS5 with the latest Papervision3D targeted for AIR2 on Android 2.1 OS. Papervision does not yet have native support for the new touch features in Flash Player 10.1 but they still look awesome (and run well) on your phone.

Creating A Gradient Mask In Flash CS4


Gradient masks are the key to smooth shadows. You still need to use code to get an animated gradient mask to work properly in CS4 – but that is no oversight. This is caused by the fact that the movie clip property, cacheAsBitmap is removed the instant the movie clipmoves.

Prior to CS4, if you wanted simple plane rotation in Adobe Flash, it likely had to be done by incorporating an open source project called PaperVision3D. This often left talented designers standing behind developers with their hands on their hips. Now simple 3D transformations can be created in the time line of Flash CS4. You don’t need to write any code what-so-ever to achieve stunning, smooth 3D rotations.
